The cast didn't boo him. At the end of the show, the cast came out for its final bow and acknowledged he was in the crowd. They then thanked him for coming and the crowd started to boo him. The cast actually quieted the crowd, then they read a statement to Pence saying they were worried that the Trump administration would ignore the environment and that it wouldn't be an inclusive administration. They then urged him to be inclusive and a leader for every American.
It's fair. If he wants to sign a law that makes it okay for businesses to discriminate against gay people in Indiana, he has to accept that he might get some feedback on that when he goes to a Broadway play in New York.
