I think most people THINK this should be common knowledge. But it really isn't. Know your niche should be one of the 10 commandments of marketing. It's the difference between doing this as a side job, and paying to learn vs. retiring from the income.
Along with - no more than 1 call to action per post (whether email, ad, social media, etc). You would be surprised how many people don't know this - or think they do. Something Gary Vaynerchuk has written about on many levels. If he's not too good to emphasize it, neither are we :-)
