Yeah that animal planet segment was shit and that dog owner was irresponsible.

IRL roos are capable of a lot more than your expect. One thing I miss about living in Australia 5 years was the ramapant wildlife, I'm thinking of moving back. This is the full video of just the attack as it was released on Youtube and went viral.




You see the video below the roo had previously kicked the dog multiple times and sliced it's neck open then tried strangeling it's bloody neck until the owner intervened, even then they do slow motion to show the roo trying to gash the dog open one last time before letting go of his death grip. Roos have to deal with dingos in the wild so domesticated dogs are nothing to them.
