It is legal in the US - the only law that currently exists at the federal level is you can't produce it with underage models (human of course)
The Feds defer to the states for statutes on this - and quite a few do not have laws against it - including Texas as I mentioned earlier... the only place you might get into trouble is with interstate commerce to a state that does have laws against it
