We didnt put any immigrant into slums. Instead they were given big apartments, a non-working immigrant family can have like $4000 in benefits per month, they were given tax money to build mosques and stuff ....
These areas (called Miljonprogrammet, google it), was really nice areas when we swedes lived there. Big apartments, close to shopping, close to nature, close to industrial and business areas. Mostly families with kids, so a lot of friends. Our biggest problems at that time was some finnish drunks. But not really a problem compared to today.
I grew up in such suburb in the late 60s until the early 80's. It was great.
My family was poor working class, my friends too. But we didnt rob each other, we didnt shoot, we didnt burned up cars and we didnt rape our precious blondes and redheads, we didnt attacked the police, we didnt travel to the middle east to bury kids alive and sell women as sex slaves. We weren't saints ... but hey. Who are?
We listened to heavy metal, smoked and drank moonshine. Scary guys....
And we became men at 18,19,20 in the mandatory military service. Gone now.
Then in late 80's the white flight started. I know the reason, I had neighbours from Lebanon, Iraq, Syria and (worst of all) Somalia. So I have seen very nice suburbs being transformed into violent slums.
And most swedish people dont give a fuck what our very impopular former minister Carl Bildt tweeted about Trump.
We have a hope in Sweden and that is the party Sweden Democrats. They are the 3rd biggest party in Sweden. Maybe after the election in 2018 they will be second party or maybe biggest party.
People has finally woke up. I did this 30 years ago.
"Funny" thing is that the people living as isolated as possible from the immigrants is the immigrant-friendly politicians and journalists.
So we had huge problems with immigrants since long before we even knew whoTrump was and since long before Trump even knew the difference between Sweden and Switzerland.
And about swedish authorities and media ... people have no confidence in them. They are pretty much the same.
