There are a number of "free" blog hosts that Google loves to crawl. Doesn't do you any good to have a blog if Google can't or doesn't find it.

I found a number of blog posts on Typepad pirating my content. Actually, Google found them, then I found them on Google. They're gone now, but they were around PR5 on Google.
