I just don't get this at all. This is such a non story. How many people a year did they "unmask"? I am guessing thousands.
The masking and privacy laws are designed to protect the average citizen. A former General in the US Army and the former director of the Defense Intelligence Agency is not an "average citizen" and ANY and ALL communication such a person has with ANY foreign government needs to be documented. It surely isn't maked and swept under the rug.
