BUT...at that point and time, Trump hadn't even become the official Republican nominee. And according to all the fake news polls he would end up losing to Hillary in a landslide anyway.
So my guess (and unlike Rochard, I acknowledge that it's just a guess with nothing to back it up in anyway) would be that her client was trying to cover all of his bases and looking for any possibility of help for his particular situation. So she pulled a "bait and switch" to get a meeting with Trump Jr.
But forget all of that...let's go with Rochard and CNN: This was a lawyer with "ties" to Putin and President Trump is obviously a Russian spy.
