Asking China to do something is like the rest of the world asking Canada to sort out the USA's issues or vice versa. It's not happening.
North Koreans have suffered hardships for generations, all sanctions do is justify their governments stance that they are under attack from the USA, they have not helped issues only added to them.
Lets say USA goes in an bombs every military base they have, do you really think they will wave a white flag? Or do you think they will just rebuild with newer technology and be consumed with paying America back.. cos they will. That would be the one act that would justify everything Kim and others have warned about to North Koreans.
At some stage the world will have to listen to what Kim wants, and then work out a way to move forward. Certainly the USA and Japan need to get the fuck out of Kims face.

If the United States is going to strike, it needs to strike sooner than later. The US could quickly destroy their ability to fight and communicate, similar to what we did with Iraq. The war with Iraq was over in the first hour with the first few strikes - we destroyed the ability of their military to communicate with anyone. The only difference is North Korea has god only knows how many soldiers on the border with instructions to cross into South Korea the moment hostilities start. Hundreds of thousands of people would most likely die in the first week or two.
Their ability to launch a missile at the United States isn't even remotely valid; It takes them days to set up a launch which we would quickly detect and destroy.
I look at it like this... There are two solutions here - the carrot or the stick. Offer them the carrot (food, tech, lift the sanctions) and tell them to disarm themselves and make peace with South Korea. If that fails, give them the stick - all out war.
