Sufism is the mystical Islam, and Ahmadya make up about 2 pct of the Muslim population.
What is important is that the doctrine of Islam defines as an apostate anybody who strays away from the doctrine codified in the Qur'an and in the Sunna of Mohammad.
In other words, you do not need to denounce your faith or apostate in order to be treated as such.
That's a big misconception that the apologists for Islam use all the time, when trying to claim that Jihadis are somewhat twisting the Islamic doctrine, since many of their victims are other Muslims. In fact they act just and precisely according to the Islamic doctrine.
What happened in Egypt or Somalia recently, and happens regularly all across the Middle East and Islamic Africa (it's just not that widely reported in the West) is called Jihad against 'hyppocrites" or "Jihad of purification".
