And yes, as a lefty, I thought the new memorial was powerful. Do I like it? It makes me uncomfortable and made us (you and I) have this conversation so it is effective.
On the current issues, yes the black community has lots of issues. It is getting better by every metric so maybe we are on the right course. It is just super slow.

the memorial: there is NO REASON ON EARTH a young child should be traumatized by that installation. if you are so shut down inside that you can not understand the terror and shame created by the instillation...
my suggestion is you stay away from kids...okay? you are fucked up inside.... and the black community WILL NEVER EVER progress UNTIL the black community accept half the blame for the situation. basic spiritual math 101.
it is NOT okay to take a baby, the repository for all human hope and accomplishment and impart to that child that the child is fucked and the world owes then a living for ever because the child is black. trust me this is disastrous in every regard.
