OK this is a long one, feel free to disagree, but I not pointing the finger at anyone here. I do agree, but I am keeping ‘kinda’ neutral here.
That is the way it has been for centuries...
At one time, in the west, we used to rape, and dump shit in the street, the black death and things like cholera got are arse in gear to sort out the crappy... in the 1851 when Thomas Crapper invented the ballcock is when take a dump, became more like taking a dump as you know it today, but a flushable toilet had been around since the 1500’s it was just a thing of luxury, so yes the Toilet is older the USA guys.
As for rape, it was made a crime in the UK during the mid-1700’s but 100 years was only being written down fully and people where talking about what is rape, in fact it has only been in the last 30 – 40 years that rape has been take as a serious crime, before that is was ignore and no-one reported it.
So, rape, we are only 40 years or so ahead, and taking a shit 150, and don’t think our shit doesn’t stink.
Now Imagine if another country said that American uses great big fuel eating autos, and then drove at 55 Mph on the freeway, leaving there no point at all to have 3 litre engine, yet in Germany, where the most common car is 2 litres on some Autobans, there is no speed limit... leaving you free to drive at what speed you wish. Imagine if someone told you that the freedom you value is not quite what it seemed to be, and your way of life was decadent, wasteful and consider wrong. These are all things that would offend you. Yet to most Europeans, they look at the US in this way.
So, say if your country was invaded and occupied by a power that passed a law, your kids could not have relationship at school with the opposite sex (Japan), any religious icons was band from being worn at school (France), women had to cover their shoulders (Dubai). You were only allowed to have one child (China). And it's illegal to have good teeth in the UK (I made that last one up).
The reason why the media isn't outlining these issues, they are all countries that are willing to play ball with the USA, to your rules, but I am guessing that you may feel some of these laws are wrong.
Yes, by are standards of life, that we value in the west, we feel it is wrong. But there is no real law in place in Japan about rape, in fact I read a story where an USMC officer was on a train in Tokyo, she was groped and so she slapped the man, she reported it to the police, and then she was charged with assault, where most Japanese women would not report or react to such an acted. There happens to be no such real law in Japan and what is more there are provinces that do state a legal age of sexual consent for male, and yet females will be a lower age or just not mentioned at all. That a little eye opener on their porn industry and animation style.
I know a story about a Swedish woman, that report she was raped in Dubai, she was then jailed for have sex out of wedlock. Her embassy had to fight to get her leased and afterward she was had to leave the country and not return.
in India and Pakistan it often common for a male family member to rape another female family member.

Take very little notice of what the media says, If you recall when Stormy Daniels ex-boyfriend was voted in, he had an issue with China, and it was all a big economic war etc. Because China was a threat to the US economy, they came up with a trade deal, that levelled the playing field and it was all forgotten, and trump moved on to his next target. And who can forget Tony Blair, coming up with weapons of mass destruction, yeah, we sent over young men and women, we hung Saddam for his crimes, but hey there where no weapons of mass “invisibility” so what was his real crime, he wanted to talk the Arab nations in trading oil by the Euro, because, it would have screwed the US economy if they did.
Now who put Saddam in power, and gave him those weapons? Oh yeah, he used chemical weapons on the Kurds, but oddly when Saddam was taken out, we left their arses to sort out ISIS, who wouldn’t existed if Saddam was still in power, and who did attack us in our own countries, so yeah, as the politicians like to slap the words "defending your country" the first time around, it actually fucked everything up, out there and at home, and more men and women died.
So, lets step back here, considering the above. Let’s just take a quick and shallow look at India. It is the second biggest growing economy in the world and they even have their own space program. 70 years ago, they where subjects to the British Crown, and now they have a space program, where the British have programs on TV about space, (and if they made themselves they are shit, like Doctor Who). If it continues to grow, then the US will be having the same issue as it did with China. India is challenging China for the biggest growing world economy. Yeah they do have their shit to sort out, but so does China…
I think as westerners we would have learnt by now, that pointing the finger or occupy a country and enforce our values on them, only get young men and woman killed. It creates division and terrorism because those people feel that their way of life is right, so what right do you have to say otherwise and if you were invaded and pushed into a way of life you didn't disagree to, you would rebel, a bit like paying a tax, when you have no representation or say what should be law… hmm (I use that as an example, I sure any real native American would point out, they were their first, happy and living in harmony, offering to help colonials when they run out of food), what happen to those guys, what, what that you say, they where near naked, and we all know if a naked man offers you food, get the gun out!
It's time for the west to step back, look at our own issue, Kids with guns at school, Homelessness, education solving food shortage and population growth, because we could run out of food, before we run out of oil at the rate that is going. Waste, recycling, cleaning up the oceans. Politicians won’t do that, it doesn’t make money, they want you to use oil, they want war… the two biggest industries in the USA Oil and Arms, and it business men that fund your politicians, and the same politicians pass bills, so they can make more money.
Let’s get that sorted out, lets stop all that, and then when the rest of the world come up to our apparent level of morality, we can welcome them to the club, until then, leave them alone, they like we have, will figure it out… just like in Star Trek and the prime directive, did Gene give us a metaphor, well I guess when some people in the UK, say American’s are stupid, they must be wrong.
In fact, if you notice from many modern sci-fi movies, these massages are all apparent, population growth, running out of food and exploiting the poor.
The one thing I learnt as a serviceman is that politicians and media are corrupted and don't believe what you are told or read, but at the same time you are under oath to follow order, it make life hard, when you want to serve you people and country, but really you are serving the interest of a few greedy individuals. As an academic, I learnt to read from more than one source, to get my facts.
Yeah, I do agree with you, it is disgusting by my views and standards of life, but it been that way since before, in that country since before the USA was founded, and it not just India. My symphony for what good it is goes to the girl’s family and the parents of those children, and my thoughts are firmly with any my friends and members of the armed force regardless if they are US, British or otherwise and those that have served or laid down their lives.
Sorry for the Semi-rant, I know some off you will still stick to you principles, and that is fine. As a Brit... we have made all these mistakes before, and yet, it seems we have no learned from our own mistakes. I wonder how Tony Blair is doing for cash?
