You guys are missing the point. You don't seem to understand Asian culture. Three times a week, I meet with a hardcore CPC disciple. A man who confessed to me his religion IS THE Communist Party of China. He has helped me understand the thinking of the Chinese people and what is going on in the region. The Chinese have been dirt poor for centuries. Now they are finally prosperous. They don't like money, they LOVE MONEY! And they will do anything to avoid war and remain prosperous. They know war is destabilizing and expensive. I repeat, they do NOT want war!
They are terrified of Donald Trump. They feel he is an unpredictable loose cannon. They even respect the man child, because he is a 'billionaire businessman'. They had zero respect for Obama. The Chinese regarded him as weak, a paper tiger.
When NK started testing nukes and ballistic missiles, Trump put huge pressure on China to get them under control. China started imposing heavy sanctions on NK, cutting oil supplies and steal imports. If China didn't step up, Trump was ready to go to war. Kim Jong Un knew he was fucked without China's support. Hence, the reason he is finally ready to negotiate. (admittedly now as a Nuclear power).
I don't like Trump, and don't really care about politics. But you have to give some credit to the man child. The softly diplomatic approach does not work in Asia. And Trump's unpredictable natures scares the shit out of them.
