I saw this episode, yes this conversation is an insult to anyones intelligence, but to put their stupidity into perspective:
The German guy is a classic example of how a lot of Germans are: Molded since birth by their schools and mainstream media into having constant guilt because of WW2 , even though anyone born after WW2 has ZERO to do with that era, including this guy.
The result of this indoctrination is the naive utopian fantasy world view (as he admits himself) this guy has. Everything is racist in their view, you cannot talk to them objectively about issues like the mass immigration crisis (even though Merkel herself admitted it was a huge mistake).
Bourdains view is simply based on lack of knowledge on this particular subject, simply because he is not living there, has zero experience on this particular crisis and clearly hasn't informed himself at all. He probably knows more about illegal immigration in the US, which is incomparable to what's going on here. Apples and oranges.
