I think that they have adapted to include a lot more in the embed since it's not making them as much money as it once use too.

I was just checking out wp-script's theme and it looks like they've partially addressed this issue by allowing some embed's depending on what site, to be played with a custom HTML 5 player that doesn't show the hosts ads. I thought to myself that perhaps this would increase the pages per visit since there would be fewer leaks. This is something I'll probably test and see.

The only issue there, at that point your actually stealing from them, since your not using their embed code, secondly when they change their code just a little bit, your scrapper goes bezerk and all of a sudden, none of your videos work any more. I've actually got a copy of the ken transformer that does the same thing, and I didn't see a huge up tick in SE traffic because of it. Bounce rate was also higher, most likely due to the fact that the script has to check with whichever tube your pulling from, grab the code, then filter out where the video url is and plug it in. So it takes longer to get the video streaming

I suppose embedding videos have less risk as far as not hosting the videos and keeping the costs down, however on the downside produces less traffic.

True. When I'm pulling videos now, I make sure and use program channels so I'm pretty sure that the videos are meant for tubes from the programs. I also usually have the script re-master them to a set size, and cut them down to 5 to 6 min's each. I could never understand how people thought that giving out 20 min videos was a good idea, so I keep them under 6 min, I'd rather they click thru to the program site, than fap off to the free stuff all the time.
