Florida Man Arrested For Stuffing Dozens of Cages of Live Animals In Trash Compactor
According to PEOPLE, Nassau County deputies arrived at the home of Phu Tran after receiving a call concerning animal cruelty. They were informed that Tran was seen placing caged animals in a trash compactor and crushing them.
Authorities opened up the trash compactor and discovered some of the animals still in the cages. Some of the animals were dead while others were alive. Tran’s neighbor, Steve Belson, recalled seeing Tran putting a rabbit in the dumpster:
“I came across the street and said, ‘Is that a rabbit in there?’ He said, ‘What rabbit?’ He put the rabbit in the dumpster.”

Belson added that he notified maintenance and the authorities:
“When the maintenance guy came over, he opened it up and we looked in the bottom of the dumpster and we could see a rabbit and a chicken.We didn’t know the rest were there because the cat carrier broke in half.”
Nassau County Animals Services arrived at Tran’s home and removed two deceased chickens, one deceased pigeon, one deceased guinea pig, one living pigeon and two living rabbits.
Police arrested and charged Tran with four counts of animal cruelty.
