I am not concerned about it being 40 years ago. I mean, should we forgive KKK members who actually hurt blacks 40 years ago. Fuck no. I am more concerned with the fact that He didn't actually hurt anyone. If he was really going to do it, he would have. How hard was it to find a black person? My thought is that he was being stupid but his moment of anger did not materialize into someone getting hurt. It was a coping mechanism. It was wrong, but I don't think he should be punished for it.
Id like to think that leaves the door open to Trump supporters who would like to change their affiliation with the obvious racists they align themselves with.
