Now if the hospital as a whole refused service, it would be similar. But because the doctor is employed by the hospital and is probably supposed to abide by their policies, it would lead to further ramifications such as job loss, lawsuits etc based on their policies first and foremost... IF the hospitals policies aligned with the doctors reasoning, which in this climate I don't think would often be the case due to the backlash, then the fight would escalate to a similar scenario as the baker...... especially if it led to further complications for the patient.

So many variables... when do you have the right to defend what your beliefs are, whether accepted or not by the "community"? Why must one bend for another because their beliefs don't align? Why can't people accept others opinions/beliefs and move on? Why are people so fragile today? I think that's the important question
