AmeriNOC customer support:
Agent: Hello, how can I help you?
Me: Sorry to bother you again -- when was AmeriNOC sold? When did its ownership change?
Agent: I'm not certain
Me: Give me an estimate -- was it in 2018?
Agent: I have no idea; I can at least say not for 2 years since I started working here. It's not necessary for me to know if it's been sold or not, so if it has I'm not certain
Me: What do you mean "it's not necessary"? I'm asking a basic question about ownership.
Me: Who owns AmeriNOC now?
Agent: I don't know
Me: Would that be Omnis?
Me: Is it Omnis, and when did Omnis acquire AmeriNOC?
Agent: I don't know
Me: Okay great, so you don't know who owns your company.
Agent: I'm just a support representative, I don't do anything major with the operations of the company. I'm here to assist customers. Not in particular, no; I'm not sure if a sole owner owns it, if it's publically traded, etc.
Me: Okay - are you working directly for AmeriNOC or are you at a third-party customer support service which AmeriNOC contracts to handle customer service?
Agent: I work directly for AmeriNOC
Me: Okay, and you won't comment on when the change in ownership took place?
Me: No comment or you don't know?
Agent: I literally don't know. All of my activity is recorded and documented, so if I were lying management would definitely find out and reprimand me. If I knew, I'd tell you, but I don't.
Me: Okay... I'm just trying to clarify what's happening with AmeriNOC. No problem.
Me: Thanks, take care.
Agent: To be honest, even if I received communication about it, the only question on my mind would be "Does it affect my job?" Other than that, I don't really pay attention to all the other happenings in the companies I work for. Get in, get my bills paid, get out
Agent: You're welcome, have a good day.
This was an actual exchange I just had with their primary point-person. He's like this on all chats and thoroughly useless.
Thanks Sly and others. I'll follow up with you and others tomorrow!
