wp and custom need not be mutually exclusive. that said if a cms doesn't feel right to you get rid of it. you know yourself best and never doubt that
re your sig, keep in mind my cats are probably better at graphic design than me (my skills in that area are about as great as Howdy's spelling) but was really easy -took I think 3 seconds- to resize your sig using photoscape. a free, very basic tool that can get the job done
