Honestly, I don't know.
I don't ever remember it like this before. I know you bet bunged up and stuff which I guess stops you smelling a bit.

This is what happened with us.
I went to by some Prosecco for the wife. I spent a bit extra cos it was Halloween and bought a nice bottle, more expensive you know.
Anyway, she opened it and immedietly said it was horrible and why did I buy such cheap stuff. At this time I didn't think it was Covid but we joked about it.
Next day she complained about the coffee, asking why we had bought such cheap coffee and it tasted bitter. I tried to explain it was the same coffee we always bought.

Later that day I noticed the coffee tasted bitter for me as well. Really horrible and I couldn't drink it.
One of the most amazing losses of smell was when I was cooking a pasta dish. It's a really smelly concoction I like to do with lots of smoky bacon, cured meats, garlic, onions etc. The smell usually wafts around the house and smells amazing.
My wife and I were both stood in the kitchen just like. I can't smell it. Even with a head over the pan there was nothing. Not a hint of a smell.
