If you use their monetization / optimization tools, they consider you a customer (because you pay them with a part of the money your adzones generate).
If you have problems with Adsense, it could be a problem when trying to work with ezoic also. They value their partnership with Google a lot and their monetization tool relies heavily on the use of Adsense.
