About 20 minutes ago, at midnight, I heard 3 gunshots in succession followed by another 3 about 5 seconds later. Within minutes I heard police sirens and see about 6 police vehicles and are now putting up the crime tape. The shooting appears to have occurred outside a nightclub frequented by locals. This is 2 blocks from my apartment. 95% of murders go unpunished in Mexico (impunity index 2010-2016). Yes, that is a real statistic. Shit is real out here.
