Why don't we start by what do you want to advertise and what KPI's would you use to measure it?
I'm a PPC (vanilla) by profession, so prior to putting your dollar in a black box called a demand side platform, or a display campaign, what are you advertising? Is it a shopping campaign, lead, or simply looking for delivery by reach, and exposure? I can name drop here till kingdom come, however you got a live data driven marketer here, use my actual hands on experience, and let's find relevance for you.
