Well they're right. Women do fear serial killers or abusive people while men it's more of "don't be ugly please don't be ugly". I guess the follow up for men would be - "I hope I get fucked tonight".
I think that even though there are examples of female serial killers the numbers aren't as large as male. Not to mention women have different reasons for being a serial killer I think. Finally men do have a odd theory that no woman could beat them up - even though there are many instances of that happening in relationships
