what a sucker

so called "permanent links" can be gone anytime and you can't even complain. they can just tell you they don't operate/own the sites anymore and that's it, you are fucked.

Obviously, none of you had any idea how backlinks work, and you had zero knowledge of what SEO is. Putting your links on the header menu will generate a link on every post, tag, category, and page on that site, meaning thousands of backlinks. When they remove that after 6 months or 1 year, it will surely hurt your SERP (I wonder if you three know what SERP means ).

How to avoid this?
1.Never place your backlink in the header menu; instead, put it on the site page.
2.Seek out reputable sites that offer permanent spots for backlinks

Why buy a header link on a site that's only 1-5 years old? Opt for sites that are 10 years old and older, with a strong reputation on Google and regularly updated content. Use your discretion when choosing where to place your header link. Keeping my link on their header for 5 to 10 years is sufficient.
