according to the US my country is level 3 and my parish is level 4. US gov officials under Chief of Mission are actually forbidden to enter my town

for real though, Retiree is spot on. those 'advisories' are usually pretty useless
my mom spent a couple months in Laos and Vietnam a few years back for a work thing, she had a an absolute blast. as an aside, Vientiane is the prettiest name for a city ever
