I had to goog what 'Hormel' is, never heard of it before. apparently they make spam and stew, so guessing y'all are talking about one of those?

second search result was about them settling a lawsuit earlier this year for 500 mil for price fixing. I guess stuff still on the shelves bought at the higher price is still out there, or the stores are just all 'hey, they'll buy at it this price, why lower it now that we source for less cost?'

in CA, Loblaw (they own a bunch of chains, including Walmart CA) just settled a class action lawsuit about price fixing bread. Canada Bread got fined 50 mil for doing the exact same thing

I get inflation is real, just saying there are other factors at play

and buying booze and food at a gas station doesn't help. it's always gonna cost way more
