Generally speaking, yes. The "rabbit poisoning" myth has been shown to be somewhat apocryphal and difficult to replicate in a modern context. Even rabbits nowadays have sufficient fat to prevent protein toxicity.
0.8g per lb will have many people feeling quite good, especially if you add veggies (fiber) to the mix, and a decent "just in case" multivitamin.
