I was shooting native 16:9 in about 2003. It created a boisterous discussion about looking too "professional". I understand shooting safe for 16:9, but that is exactly the argument for shooting as high rez as possible, because you are zooming to fill the frame. I preferred shooting native 16:9 and it still has legs and now there are all kinds of ways to upgrade the definition, but 4:3 just dates your product.
