So yes, the French were outnumbered but all the above is essentially meaningless anyway because you missed my point in the first place. France, like Belgium and Poland being neighbours (i.e sharing a land border) with Germany bore the initial brunt of the fresh German war machine.
So geography played a large part in their defeat. That was my point but you were so blinded by your hated of all things French you were incapable of seeing it.
