I can't make a sales pitch to save my life.

I can produce high amounts of mainstream SE and social media traffic to my sites.

I produce traffic and monetize using either adsense for niched traffic or to a larger extent cpm networks.

Focus on your strength.

Making money in mainstream is easy if you are strategic in what you promote.

The most profitable mainstream products are those which are recurring in nature and thing which everyone needs and uses.

Examples are: electricity, internet access, gas, water, mobile phones etc

All you need to do is place yourself between the consumer and the vendor then take your cut.

Many profitable products don't have an affiliate sign up link , you need to contact the vendors yourself and make deals.

If this is too hard then try selling things which have recurring commissions that are readily available for instant promotion, examples include web hosting, subscription products such as Usenet or Movie streaming services. The problem here however is that competition is high and returns are spread amongst many affiliates.

Using a product such as Market Samurai will help you target profitable keywords and long tail keywords which will in turn make it easier to capture consumers who will buy. Flying blind and just putting up links never works, you need to do research using tools such as Market Samurai to ensure you reach the people actually searching for what you are promoting.

It's always a case of placing yourself between the consumer and the vendor. Therefore sites which re-affirm the consumers decision to buy a product are often successful.

Someone searching for "usenet servers", "newsgroup servers" , "usenet downloads" etc has probably already decided they want to join a Usenet service. So your task is to convince the consumer that they do wish to get Usenet and show them the best way to get it ie: convince them that your product is the best. Often your job is no more than re-affirming a desire.

There is plenty of money to be made in mainstream if you target your efforts rather than try to take a blanket approach with lots of unplanned links.

main stream is a nich all on its own,different rules and tactics, however i would
think that there is plenty of money in mainstream if you can figure out how to really do it. the way i look at it porn sells automatically, everything else takes.... a little more work

Mainstream is a lot harder to do compared to adult. In mainstream you need to work your ass off for little profit. This holds true especially after manual SEO is becoming lesser and lesser relevant after recent Panda updates. The Panda updates also kicked out most affiliate sites and internet marketing is that attractive unless you have your own product and lots of varied promotion methods. In adult, I can leave an adult site for years yet it will get good enough traffic and adult sites also rise up faster with a lot lesser investment as a lot more people look for porn compared to adult niches. I have had sites in the past which have moved to thousands of pageviews a day within days of launching the site including huge SE traffic. The same does not hold true for mainstream and you need to work hard with quality content to get the visitors to the website. Even then you do not know click rate or conversion rate. So, getting traffic in mainstream is far more difficult than adult and that goes without saying.

AdultKing gave you very good advice.. You need to think farther then Adsense and CPM.. Recurring profits coupled with big markets that will always be in need is the way to go!

Or another way to go is drop shipping.. Get a good product and sell it through drop shipping.. In any case get a good grasp of SEO, because if you don't you will have to pay for PPC or something paid similar advertising..

There are of course many other ways but don't limit yourself to adsense and the usual ppc money makers..
