Hi question on my crowdfunding campaign
Hi my name is Brandi. I am looking to open a gentlemen's club in Bedford county Pa. I am running a campaign at indiegogo.com to help raise start-up capital. I was referred to this crowdfunding idea by a lady from LinkedIn. Wondered if you all think this could work or if it's a waste of time. Here is my pitch and link to the campaign.
(We are running a campaign to open a great place for entertainment in our area. Will you help make this a reality??? If you visit the link below you can add your support to a town in need of entertainment and revenue. Our venue will produce money to help our municipality to run smoothly and provide tax revenue for our parks and travel. Please click our link below and show your support!!! Sorry I am not able to post the url to the thread. If you are interested in seeing it I could email it to you. Thank you in advance to any and all thoughts or comments. |

I don't think you're going to be able to crowed fund this. Permits / Remodel and a Liquor license is whats going to kill you.

I don't know if it's a waste of time, but looking at the amounts funded through the small business category, people at most are raising just a couple of thousand dollars. Like Brad said, I think you would need significantly more capital to open a joint like that. But maybe it can be one investment source amongst others?
Good luck! |

Thanks everyone. We will not be purchasing a liquor license because it will allow us more freedom in operatinh hours and such. We are looking to purchase that building at $25,000 and that includes all the barware, seats tables, ect. But there are repairs to be made to the roof and a few sections of floor.

I personally am against crowdfunding due to the fact that you have to deal with so many small investors that I don't think the headache would be worth it.
