FTP help
Hi newbie here
having problems with FTP. Have FTP software installed, but don't understand how to set up my PC to use the FTP program. where do I put my website folders on my pc so I can transfer them to my FTP software? How do I call them an index page ( or what to save them as)from my editor? where do i save them to then? dont want to use free hosting like everyone here said not to.

I recommend FileZilla FTP client - free, quite stable and easy to use. Just google 'filezilla ftp' and you'll get everything you need.
Then you'll have something like 'ftproot' directory on you server, that's where FTP server stores data.

I recommend using a cms.
Most hoster do offer pre installed cms like wordpress, joomla or type 3. It is more easy to start with something like that than to start with raw html uploads. |

Install any FTP client as already stated (there's many available) then the files on your local machine can be uploaded from any folder to your servers destination!
