What am I doing wrong with my fashion YouTube channel

I have had my channel for a while now and it is dedicated to men's fashion. I have put out regular high quality videos. Yet I don't have that many subscribers. Anybody would mind check it out and giving me an advice?

The channel is at Aleks Nevski - YouTube ( it'll redirect you to my YouTube URL )

Thank you!
Aleks

1. You need to set up a website/blog. Then add these vids with text to posts.

2. The colour looks dreadful on the vids. It looks like red has been turned up too high. It made me feel like you were on Mars. It made it hard to watch the vids.

3. Use a proper mic. When you speak into the camera it sounds like your using the one on the camera. It sounds poor. I decent mic is not expensive and would make things sound 100% better.

4. Interview people.

5. Personally I would rather look at pics when it comes to fashion. If It was me I would have also pics on your site. Plus how much things cost.

6. I am not keen on the camera shoots. Some shots seem shaky, and other shots are too high up. Something like this needs some pro camera work. Your trying to be classy, but it feels too amateurish.

If you take this film: https://youtu.be/PeWoHrbDemM

Its soooo dark and blue, you can hardly see what the model is wearing.

I appreciate the comments but YouTube viewers don't want overproduced videos. They want videos that they know were shot by amateurs. My videos are still way better quality than most people's, even the ones with a following.

Anyway, who cares about the quality of my videos if no one is watching them. I need to figure out how to get people to my channel. I'll worry about the quality of the videos later.

Clearly not as your views are so low.

Your films are poor. You cannot see what your wearing and they are rather dull to watch, and badly produced and filmed.

But you believe you have got things correct so you will just carry on.

And in a years time, two years time, six years time you will still be wondering why your views are low.

In the end you will give up, not knowing why you failed.

Produce good films, then people will tell others.

Concentrate on showing more clothes than giving tips. Your videos more look like grooming than fashion

I suggest you to add grooming, personality development as tags while uploading videos. Maybe it can help.

I wouldn't say I'm a youtube expert. I do know why you're not getting as much traffic to your videos as you would want though.

You should learn to take constructive criticism better especially if you are asking for advice and tips. What was said, I have to agree with. Your videos look completely washed out and cheesy. I didn't even want to play any of them. I'm a graphic design student, and the thumbnails definitely don't grab my attention. But hey, that's my

Edit: Oh and I should add.... do you have any other facial expressions? Every thumbnail is practically the same one.

Give me one free tip that can actually help me and if it does - I'll hire you. But I can't just hire you on "I'm the best", you know?

"Constructive criticism" usually involves what SHOULD happen and not only what SHOULDN'T happen. You want to suggest something new? You have a lookbook link that you think is to model after?

I'll give you 3 on marketing:
- You're underusing video descriptions (you could push your future videos, products, a blog or anything else)
- You're underusing video annotations (they could be fantastic call-to-actions)
- You're not mentioning the price, where to buy, colors or other details of products you feature (in fashion videos)

A question: At the moment what are your income sources from these videos (beside youtube views)?

I'll help on how to get more views, provide ideas for shoots, how to bring more value to your viewers and help you step your channel up.

My channel is too small right now to monetize it. So, I'm making $0 right now which is fine. To address your concerns:

1. I have videos with descriptions that are transcripts of the entire video and then, of course, close captioning, and that doesn't do any better that the videos without long descriptions. I've watched a lot of videos on how to do it and tried everything and yet no improvement.

2. I am not promoting anything but my YouTube channel and I have a thumb to subscribe, a subscribe button at the end and the auto display with the "See more..." Not sure if I can do any more pushing of my videos.

3. Most lookbooks don't mention prices. Also, if I mention prices or where to buy things - people are not going to subscribe to my channel just because of that, don't you think?

I've seen few other fashion channels and they seem similar, yet they're successful. i noticed your colour schemes comes off as slightly difficult for the eyes to keep focus. keep the colour tone of the video to normal.

I have been producing all types of videos for over 3 years, I think you videos are ok but the audio is poor, invest in a decent mic or use audacity to take out the background noise.

Market the video better, share on all the social media platforms, approach viral blogs and offer to get post for them ... thats a great way to grow. You can guest post to my viral video blog if you wish. Contact me at [email protected] if you are interested
