Will improve conversion rate for your newsletter / free membership signup
Hi folks!
I've built a tool that might make email marketing (not to confuse with spam) relevant again for the industry. It's based on the assumption (confirmed by my asking around other boards) that because of privacy concerns a non-trivial fraction of visitors abandon the signup process whenever asked to enter email address or supply throwaway addresses (Mailinator, 10 Minute Mail, etc) useless for email marketing. I think this can be cured, and here's how. NotSharingMy.Info is a different kind of anonymous email service, issuing permanent addresses that are remailed to user's real inbox. So if your users used it to sign up you'd still be perfectly able to reach them at those addresses later. I'm theorizing that by offering them an option to anonymize their email right in your signup form you can: a) Address the privacy concern b) Make sure they don't use a throwaway address So I've made a widget you can place on your form that does exactly that. A live demo speaks better than a thousand words, so check it out here: notsharingmy.info/widget/ Now I admit that this is completely unproven and might not work at all. But on the other hand, what if it does? Then you suddenly have higher conversion rate and deliverability on your list. So why not try it? Here's what I offer: 1) I will give you the code to place on your form (it's just a javascript snippet you'll need to paste into the page, no programming involved) 2) The widget will automatically A/B test itself, i.e. it will display to only 50% of the visitors and measure conversion for those who see it vs. those who don't. 3) I will share the resulting numbers with you and you will tell me if you started having fewer fake addresses on your list (if possible) 4) If you like the result you can keep the widget completely free of charge. Interested? Contact me via PM, form on the site or this thread. I would also very much love to hear any criticism from you industry guys. |
