I've recently been working on a programming project for a friend and he has a very interesting business opportunity to possibly offer to GFY. Basically we are just looking for feedback to see whether or not this would be the kind of thing you guys are interested in or not.

He is a Sys Admin and is able to offer a semi-managed dedicated server at very good rates due partly to contacts within data centre operators here in Europe. If this proves interesting enough we can look to try and extending contracts to US data centres too.

The plan would be to offer pre prepared servers (for a number of different applications, web / email / specific cms / wordpress / dns / backup / etc) for direct use by you, our clients. A web panel would exist to allow you to make on the fly configurations, but all the configuration and updates would be handled by us, an unmanaged version could be offered too.

These services are all hosted on a dedicated box (you are not getting a VPS, but your own physical machine). All services would be a minimum term of 2 months (to cover setup costs), but once setup can be renewed on a month by month basis. Upgrades would be handled free of charge, so long as you are maintaining services with us, otherwise a small fee would be charged.

All data centres used would be industry respected and have good uplink connections worldwide, these are established companies who have been in business for over 10 years and have hundreds of thousands of customers hosting millions of sites.

Provisionally we are looking at the packages below (note subject to change):

Mid Range - 24
Processor: Intel i7 2.66GHz
RAM: 24GB
Disc Space: 2TB
Data Transfer: Unlimited (15TB @ 100Mbps, remaining @ 10Mbps)

£75 or $122 per month.

Note this prices at the moment are only provisional (but realistic) and we are looking for feedback on the offering, what types of systems would like to see us config, what could be improved on the packages, etc.
