Rev share or PPS, who has the numbers?

Has anyone made a no-bs database of how well different sponsors retain customers? Maybe it's not even possible (since I imagine it depends on how you sell their product), but whenever I signup with a new sponsor, I always sit and ponder if I should go for revenue sharing or pay per signup.

I usually end up going with revenue sharing and eventually switch to PPS if the sponsor is not retaining the client.

too many variables besides just the program, it really depends on the kind of traffic you're sending. that being said, after a couple months you can do the math for yourself much more accurately than any general DB could.

With the state of the industry these days I would always go to PPS. You never know when a program gets out of business or stops paying affiliates, so it's better to cash in while you can instead of going for long-term rebill revenue.

Revshare...

Only revshare can get you to a point where you send 50,417 uniques and you generate a turnover of $11,373 in less than 20 days....

So yeah it takes 2-3 months to get to that point, but once you are rolling...

AFF has paid me 7 figures on revshare, and when traffic falls for various reasons I still get paid because of the recurring billing until I get traffic levels raised again.

With PPS you get more up front, but if your traffic dies you arent making anything. And you only get paid once for a signup that may stay a member for several months or even a year.

I think your approach of trying revshare first then switching if the retention is not so good is a pretty good approach already!

I request a User pass for the Member area and i look around before signing up to the sponsor. ( on another topic, i also look at the billing pages, xsells etc)

You'll be surprised of some of them, some of the largest players have the shittiest member areas ever; when that happens i usually pick PPS or i move on.

Lots of updates, content quantity, content delivery options (downloads, streams, mobile...), customer service friendly, good hosting etc etc.... i go for rev share

I have told many affiliates this and only a few have listened. When you find a program that you want to promote because they have the sites/niches that you want do your self a favor and use Both PPS and Rev. Split 70% or so PPS and the rest Rev. Then once the rev starts to build change the split to closer to 50/50 and then reverse it when the Rev has passed the PPS amount.

Or just go with Rev 100%
