can you drive with out one on in your country?

I know some in the uk still hate them. but i feel odd if i drive without one.

It's a law that I must wear a seatbelt while driving my Chevy heavy duty truck. However I can ride around on my motorcycle all day with just a pair of shorts on.

do you (as we do in the uk) have to wear a helet (unless its a 3 wheel bike)?

No helmet required. Eye protection is the only requirement in Florida.

I've seen the state of leathers after someone came off their bike - don't think you'd have much skin left in just shorts

It is a secondary law here in Colorado meaning they can't pull you over just for not having your seat belt on. If they pull you over for another reason and the driver or front seat passenger aren't wearing their belt, it is a $72 fine.
