Godadd Backorder any luck with it?
Hey everyone,
I purchased a backorder monitor service whatever thing from godaddy and was curious if anyone has used it and had any luck with it or vice versa. I usually try to grab everything on my own but decided to be safe with this one From what I remember, snaps used to be like 60 bucks which is why I brought this up, seems really cheap. Anyway, any info would be great. Thanks |

I snagged a few using the godaddy service, its cheap and if they don't get the domain they credit back the service and you can use it for another domain, if you come across a domain you really just have to have, I would use a premium service as well

You'd think GoDaddy would be best at catching GoDaddy drops.

Thanks for the info nasty, I appreciate it. I didnt know they credited it back if you dont get it. Nice.
The domain name looks to be dropping from an au registrar. The domain name can be used for mainstream or adult and it just seems like a really good tube name but sometimes you can become enamored with tlds only to find it wasnt worth it. I wouldn't mind trying to make a mainstream viral tube site with it, i don't know yet. |

I had my eye on a domain and used Godaddy's system. The domain finally expired and I started receiving emails...I was pretty stoked. I got my first email letting me know the domain had expired but the owner had x amount of days to renew it. 30 days later I receive an email saying that the owner did not renew it but they have a 10 day "grace period" where they can buy the domain name back at an elevated price. This entire time I'm working on the logo and the website. I wanted to launch it as soon as I had control and could changer over the DNS.
Around 45 days later I receive an email saying the owner did not renew and did not opt for the grace period. I figured it was only a matter of time before Godaddy transferred the domain to my account. When you visited the domain it did the standard Godaddy "this domain has expired...blah blah. I waited another 15 days and still nothing. I decide to call Godaddy to ask them what was up. The support rep told me that there was not transfer information for that domain and it was only showing up as expired not deleted. Something about how the original owner had to login to their back office and delete the domain. It didn't make any fucking since but whatever...I've waited this long what's another couple days. One random day I decide to check the URL and there's a fucking live website on it and the problem is; it wasn't MY website. I get on the phone with Godaddy support and they explain to me how someone else backordered the domain before I did therefore they got it. They apologize and credit my account back what I paid. I was pissed that I had done so much work and didn't get the domain. The answer to your questions is yes it works. It just depends whether it will work for you or against you.

Sorry to hear that triple x, thanks for sharing that with me. I keep an eye out for expiring domains and this one expired in march and is supposed to be available today.
a lot of times it drops in the morning hours between 12 ans 2 am, but once in a while it doesn't which is whats happening with this one. I am checking for it to drop but hoping that the godaddy service will also snag it if i become distracted and miss it. |

Looks like someone else got it. Calling godaddy to double check. Truly disappointing but i figured chances to grab it were gonne be slim.

Godaddy backorders can barely even catch domains dropping from Godaddy.
You're better off backordering at snapnames, namejet, or pool.

I agree..I use Godaddy for registering domains but think thier backorder service is the least effective compared to many others.

I wasnt sure how much i liked the domain name and the godaddy guy was convincing that this was similar to a snap which i swear was 60 bucks.
the domain has left the au registrar and is now being help at NS1.INTERIMNAMESERVER.COM The godaddy people say this is because the domain dropped and was sent back to its orig registrar, i read online its because of backordering that it gets sent there. I dont really know usually the domain i want just drops on time and i either manually snag it or miss out lol. I guess i will wait to see if the backorder i have with godaddy does anything and if not thats just the way the cookie crumbles. Thanks again for all the info, ill post the domain name once i find out for sure whats going on and see if i get a tounge lashing for either going after a silly domain, or not putting enough effort into it lol. Again, thanks everyone for the awesome info and advice, ill use pool or snap next time. |

When I first saw it had changed nameservers, my initial response was that someone put a snap on it and won it, it seems as if it went through as soon as it became available because i had been checking a lot throughout the day.
The godaddy guy put me on hold as he checked everything and told me that it has not been picked up by anyone yet. he said since it dropped it went back to the original registrar and that my backorder was still underway. I bought coedporno, strangeporno rvsluts.com etc like a week or so back as they dropped from the pool and felt really good about those purchases. I usually put some thought into what i buy was not as confident with this domain so if i lose it it just wasnt meant to be. As long as it doesnt turn into a billion dollar well branded domain i will be fine lol. |
