X-Men First Class FTW!

X-Men First Class was a fantastic movie and had me glued to the screen for the whole 2 and a quarter hours.

Thor was good, but it sure didn't have the same impact for me.

I bet Green Lantern is just going to blow them all away when it comes out June 17th though.

Haven't seen x-men yet but I'm willing to bet that story wise it would be better. More characters and they've always been good about expanding the stories on more than just one or two of them.

you all not watch the second half of xmen? kind of fell off the wagon and tailed off the good story lines... too many characters that aren't important soaking up story time, mystique was whiny and her motives were completely confusing. I still liked it i just don't think it stood out from much at all.

Thor would have been a lot better if they completely edited out Natalie Portman's character. She is one of my favourite actresses but she played a complete bubble headed brainless twit that just interfered with story lines instead of going along with them. More time developing more interesting characters would have made it better.

Green lantern looks a little refreshing, sure its got aliens and shit, but thats different from most comic book movies lately. I wish they would start going with unknowns more but this guy isn't all that bad either...

Probably in the minority but thought Thor was better than X-Men First Class. I had VERY high expectations for X-Men and low ones for Thor. That was the difference.

Why would you compare the two movies?

They are two different films, I appreciate both movies for what each movies offers.

Goes along great with the rest of the X-Men films, fortunately the whole "morale" of the story got tiring for me ...

While I appreciate the performers and aspects of X-Men, there are parts of it that bugged the ever-living crap out of me - like not using the actual, original X-Men (Havoc and Darwin? Angel as a chick? Really, guys?). There's too much built into the X-Men movie franchise to try and start it as a new franchise, no matter how often Marvel retcons its books. Way, way more hyped than it deserves.

Thor, on the other hand, isn't a wildly beloved character, by and large, and it managed to make a less-known character relate-able, lay out an origination story, and build on a broad-ranging arc while managing to stand on its own.
