Even tho I repeatedly tell AdultCentro that I have a limited budget for feeds in my Members Area, and though they have assured me over and over that my monthly charges would remain "in an acceptable range" (whatever the fuck that means) I am seeing WILD swings in charges. One month it's $400, next month it's $1000+, and so on.

So after relentless chaping of my anal cavity I have decided to STOP this endless ass assualt insanity and look for other feed companies to bolster my Members Area.

So who else wants my business?

I will consult with my support team in AM on the issues and history on your account, and let you know what we can do to keep your bills in check. If your usage is going up, it's only because your members use the product.

We are the only company afaik that provides options for per member usage statistics, as well as bandwidth control.

We always work with our customers to ensure their usage remains profitable, as of course only then we can have a balanced relationship where everyone wins.

It looks like you already have a solution to your problem, but if you are ever interested in giving Plug-In Feeds a try I would be more than happy to set you up with a free trial. Capping and throttling bandwidth usage is no problem at all, we have many clients that need such a setup plus we also send out e-mail alerts whenever an unexpected spike in bandwidth happens to help catch problems before they start.

If you don't mind my asking were your spikes in usage from your site getting cracked or from actual member usage habits?

I am curious since you apparently were on a "throttled" bandwidth plan so just wondering if you could see the bw then it shouldn't have been a surprise why there were fluctuations...

(btw.. Just wondering since we have been doing feeds for years and certainly meaning no disrespect to you or the provider.)

Thanks Sly, just may do that. I usually don't look to "replace" companies I work with so much as "add" new features for members. I'm also using Webmaster Central (who I love). But I'd be willing to check out your stuff at least.

ANYway: not to air private business on a public board let's just say I was under the impression that my useage was capped when it may be the case where it is not for some reason. We're investigating that.

If the useage was coming from Members, uncapped, then there's less of a problem, or perhaps a problem with just a few mems. What kind of feeds you gots?

Ok, that is what I was thinking - obviously if you have members in good standing that are using the content then you don't necessarily want to drop the provider as a solution because then you are just biting off you nose to spite your face as my Ma always used to say. If your members like it and are using it then dropping it might cost you way more in the long run.

If on the other hand, your had non members getting access and sucking that much bw then I am guessing there should have been some sort of notification/alarm going off to cut it back and help you avoid paying unnecessarily.

Not necessarily - everyone has to weigh the pros and cons...

Purchased content - cheap is also non-exclusive; you get what you pay for so exclusive means more expensive and if you want specific models then you face model issues, which also carries more responsibility for age verification so therefore more liability, and there is more work to maintain the CMS... all of which carries the benefit of real exclusivity... which is only really good if you are also willing to protect it at all costs, time, legal, etc.

Leased feeds, frequent updates, less liabilities, less work maintaining it...

At the end of the day, renting feeds can make a heck of a lot more sense financially speaking though many think otherwise without necessarily thinking it through imho... and I am speaking from all sides of the equation, as a feed provider and as a lessee of feeds as well as a buyer of exclusive content.

IF it were possible to buy content at the same rate and consistency that a feed company could provide I might consider it. BUT then there's the issue of "working with" all that content I'd be buying (instead of "renting"); editing, FTP-ing, CMS, updates, ay yi yi!
