Experiences sending your Camera to Canon for Repair?

Do you send your Canon Cameras into Canon?
What are the average costs?

Someone told me about a Canon club to join or something a few years ago!

Check out this place. They do good work, fast turn around and are cheap.
Precision Camera - Digital Camera Repair, Video Camera Repair

I had them go through my Nikon's and Sony's last year.

I have a Canon camera... It had some problem with just going completely dead. Turns out there was a recall because a screw that is magnetized gets loose and then sticks itself to a wire and shorts out the camera.

They sent me a box to put it in and then kept me updated on the progress of the fix and sent it back. The whole thing took about 2 weeks. They "refurbished" it also I guess... I told them I was going to do an Amazon review and include their great customer service... So I guess they went overboard trying to get the best review.

All I can say is Nikon service sucks. 3 out of 3 fails. Major fails.

I've had 2 'point and shoots' sent back to canon... both with great results...
the first one had multiple issues after heavy use, and it was past warranty, but had a 'recall' that had gone out to fix the LCD.
They replaced the LCD, plus fixed the rest of the issues (broken USB connection, etc).
And no, they didn't just ship me a different camera..
