Bernanke has made it clear he plans to trash the dollar to prop up the market. Government debt is going to be almost entirely monetized (~80%). This is the market reacting. The Eurozone and UK will be attempting to devalue their own currencies as well. Gold could top $10,000 and if that happens I'm buying an island

I don't know about 10k but 5k at least. I'm buying up more silver than Gold though because to me it has more of an upside. It's gone up nearly 200% in 2 years.

I was targeting $5k too, but with Bernanke's latest actions I think it will go well past that. He has shown his cards.

Yeah, but you would not be able to sell it (legally) to realize a profit and transporting it would be quite difficult. Gold was illegal in the Soviet Union too. People with small fortunes in gold often lived in deplorable conditions.

No, you are wrong, The US dollar, and all global currencies are going DOWN and gold and silver are in the biggest bull run in history. We are in maybe phase 2 of 5 phases and if you are short these metals, you are going to get clobbered.

Why would you try to pick when a sector that has been on an 11 year bull market of 20+ percent per year every year would decline?
