OWS Madison loses permit because of public masturbation

City officials temporarily denied Occupy Madison a new street use permit Wednesday after protesters violated public health and safety conditions and failed to follow the correct processes to renew or amend a permit.

The permit, which expired Wednesday at noon, required Occupy Madison protesters to relocate from their current space at 30 West Mifflin Street, also called 30 on the Square.

A neighboring hotel's staff alleged voiced concerns about having to recently escort hotel employees to and from bus stops late at night due to inappropriate behavior, such as public masturbation, from street protesters.

In addition, officials agreed further occupation should not be allowed to continue without restrooms on site to avoid further public health violations.

It's not that at all. With no leadership and no set objectives other than to bitch, anyone can join. All you need to do is show up. Combined with the circus like atmosphere and campground environment, your gonna pull in a lot of carnies, freaks, criminals, and homeless people.

It is the people with the permit, that by law, need to provide the porta-potty. At least that is how it is where I live. Why would the city pay for them?

There are very few public restrooms in general. I can only think of parks, and they are often closed or absolutely disgusting.

So you want to spend more money that doesn't exist to accommodate needs that typically are not there. Sounds like a plan and a half. Definitely an issue the OWS should take up.

That can't be true... aren't they all rioting etc over the 1%... ie the leaders with lots of wealth? If they appoint someone that have more than the rest they failed their mission.....
