Do you feed these to your dogs and cats ?

I am guilty on a few counts, have not encountered any problems over the years

My dogs LIVE off Xylitol. I couldn't deal with them if I didn't constantly shove that shit down their gullets.

Chocolate is bad, but it has to be rich chocolate(like the kind in the baking aisle) in large amounts. Still, there's no reason to give your dog even a small chunk of chocolate, so why take a chance?

Most people don't know about grapes.

Hmmm... lots of those are also bad for birds. My Parrot loves grapes, wonder if they are bad for him.

English next time. Is eveyone here drop-dead drunk?

No, its raw cocoa that'll kill them. Maybe. If they eat enough of it. Milk chocolate is fine. Your dog could snack on Aero bars for twenty years unless he's lactose intolerant.

I had a miniature Doberman who lived to be twenty-four years old, and that boy lived off chocolate-dipped DQ cones, Maltesers, and Drumsticks. I grew up reading Encyclopedia Brown, and he ALWAYS gave Buster the bottom of his cone.

I smell food, I'm gonna go eat. If you're terrified about garlic and onion - read the label on the foods you buy. You might be surprised what's in them.

The one about avocados is ridiculous. Our cats eat food made from avocados for the last 3 years everyday.

Avocados

The avocado tree leaves, pits, fruit, and plant bark are likely all toxic. Clinical signs in dogs and cats include vomiting and diarrhea.

There are a number of very high end food manufacturers that are avocado based.
