This guy has far too much time & talent

I've seen micro engines made by hobbyist before, but it's pretty cool to see one built from ground up. I can't imagine how long this must of taken him to design and build.

edit..

just found another one the same guy built..

Wow that's amazing. Someone should take the design aspect out of it and put together a kit people can buy and build themselves. But I'm not sure if you could mass produce such small parts with all the fine detail involved?

Yea I was thinking that as well, wondering what he used. The only thing I could think of, is maybe he went with some sort of glow plug set up like they use with RC airplanes.

Or it's all pneumatic and the big mother tube leading to the air filter is actually what is driving it.

Diesel doesn't use a spark to create combustion........

Pretty sure it is as rowan said - pneumatic as it makes stuff all noise like a petrol powered engine would.

Yea probably the most likely bet as an engine is nothing more than a big air compressor.

Big Money

These could be worth big money.
Just about every ship built gets a professional model built. They average about 10 feet long and highly detailed. Saw an article in Forbes years ago, had a US Navy Captain describe the one for the new ship he was to command. Saw one one in a law office. These go for $100,000 to $1,000,000 and there is a specialty collectible market.
