No such thing as freesurfers and freeloaders on the Adult Net

I thought that would get your attention. LOL

So no such thing as a free surfer or freeloader. They are just people who have not been sold to yet.

There are different types of surfers.

The regular buyer.
The occasional buyer.
The guy who has not bought yet.
The guy without the ability to buy.

Now think of the level of thought we put to the product we sell.

We can buy it on price.
We can get it from a guy who last week was driving a bus.
As a programmer site builder I can shoot it myself.
I can build a site with 50 exclusive scenes that are all the same and expect people to buy and stay.
With zero knowledge of what porn is, I can build a site or produce it.

Is it little wonder there are so many people who have not been sold to yet, when we think so little of the product we are selling?

We know they are interested in porn, they spend hours surfing the net looking at it, they just have not been given a big enough reason to pay and/or maybe when they did they were so disappointed with what they paid for they decided to not buy again.

I like your point of view

So much truth in your statements, if more ppl had your POV -
more porn would be sold - rather offered for free.

It's basicly the fact that we, who promote what we sell, educated the user
that there is enough for free out there to jerk off, than to buy a membership
before you get it on with your best friend.

Plus many ProgramOwners are still not even thinking of all the possible methods to bill a user other than CC and Check.

GeoIP and multiple billing options (as many as possible) have so much power
and generate much more revenue, yet only a few bright minds do it.

Are you going to be in Prague for the AOE?
I'd love to have a sit-down with you and talk a bit.

Thanx,
Steve

I'll be in Prague, I'm going to be giving a presentation and very much involved in the show.

I know porn is addictive, well jerking off to it is, and that if you have the right fix for the addict he will find a way to pay.

Problem with so many sites is the level of porn in the product they deliver. Look at all the threads asking "IS SHE HOT" a lot of those girls I could not sell to a magazine and guys are asking if she's hot enough for a solo girl site.

Apart from the obvious spammers, like Michael Ancher a few days ago, what the fuck are you doing in business where you do not know what the people you sell to want.

A good girl walks intop my studio I will spend $5,000 shooting her for a week. Without asking anyone.

What this thread is really about is we are always complaining about conversions, retention, free surfers and we thing we as an industry can deleiver a low level product, the only product the surfer is there for, and expect him to be grateful and get out his credit card.

It will change as the market matures, those who skimp on the only product they sell will slowly fall behind those who don't.

You missed a few types of guys:

The guy who used to buy, but now doesn't because he can get what he likes for free.

The guy who has never bought and will never buy.

The guy who has bought, got fucked over because he got billed $280 three days after joining a site because of all the cross sales and now will never buy again.

While technically these guy's aren't freeloaders because you can hope to get some value out of them as traffic traders or if nothing else as someone who increases your traffic totals so you can sell ads for higher prices, they certainly aren't worth much and likely all the education in the world is not going to help them get their wallet out.

True. It's amazing how much the business has changed in 7 years. Now there are loads of properly trained and programmed free loaders.

2005 there were mostly people we hadn't sold to and people we couldn't buy. The original posts shows a state of mind a true salesman has to adopt. Not some idiot loading 100,000s of impressions on a free Tube and selling traffic at cents on the dollar. That's not marketing or selling.

Thanks for bumping the thread dumb ass. who says I can't adapt?

That thread had died the same day in 2005..... shows you Paul Markham was an idiot even in 2005 and people would not even bother posting on his thread.....except for one guy......who had no clue who Paul was......
