Anyone Hosts in Switzerland?
Due to privacy concerns, I'm thinking of hosting in Switzerland where privacy is taken more seriously. Is anyone hosting in Switzerland? Any feedback, recommendations, good/bad experiences? I'm looking for dedicated, but semi or fully managed solution.
Thank you pic for looking at my thread |

I dont know can you even get hosting there, they have kind a shitty connections there, plus they have most expensive home internet in europe last time i check,so imagine how much would cost hosting even if they have it available.

I run a very busy website that blows some pretty loud whistles. Not wikileaks, nowhere near as big, but with 2 million monthly users, 20 million pageviews a month, and shit loads of activity with some pretty eye opening submissions by members, the last thing I want is to have an FBI agent snooping around the server without me even knowing. I'll trust Iran before I'll trust the USA, the way things are at the moment. I don't find nothing wrong with taking steps to ensure that no unauthorised access is granted to the server or the logs |

We have very fast connections here in switzerland but often very overpriced. It's better to host in the netherlands if you ask me.

Welcome to PRQ!
We are a specialized hosting and internet service provider, located in Sweden, a free-speech haven. We serve a growing community of international clients with special needs. What we do PRQ is globally known for: Refugee hostingOur boundless commitment to free speech has been tested and proven over and over again. If it is legal in Sweden, we will host it, and will keep it up regardless of any pressure to take it down.We have ZERO tolerance against SPAM and related services!ConfidentialityWe defend your integrity to the end. With our discreet customer relations policy we don't even have to know who you are, and if we do, we will keep that knowledge strictly confidential.Technical proficiencyThe PRQ team has a solid background in computer networking, security, hardware, and software. Most of us have been online for over 10 years. We can assist you with almost anything - keeping your servers secure, mitigating DDoS attacks, or keeping your high-traffic websites up and running smoothly. To make this possible, we run our own fully multi-homed backbone network (AS33837), with the capacity needed both to handle large DDoS attacks and to provide excellent connectivity to customers with bandwidth utilization ranging from a few Mbps to several hundred. http://prq.se/?intl=1 |

Didn't the Swedish Pirate Party take over the hosting of TPB? and if I'm not mistaken the people originally running PRQ sold the company 2 or 3 years ago. I wonder if they're still as strict when it comes to the privacy of their users.

They don't host neither TPB or Wikileaks. At one time, some iteration of the company did. Both sites, and numerous others, left them. The current owners and staff are now just fucking downright thieves. I have seen enough evidence from a few guys to see that PRQ is now just a joke.

PRQ is suffering. Search Torrentfreak.com for "Sweden". Half a dozen stories on how the Swedish goverment is destroying PRQs lifeline: shutting down piracy torrent sites. This company survives on selling hosting to thieves of your content. Boy-fucking organization? Chechen terrorist recruitment site? Apparently not anymore, you seem to have lost those customers too. So you're just into hosting porn stealing torrent trackers? Ah. Please, take my money! |

PRQ works just fine, and it is still the best of its kind!
Don't know why You are so angry.. I think if You can't protect your digital work (pictures,movies,music,etc)- it is your own fault when people share it for free.. Instead of punishing people and beg governments for help and tougher laws, people who produce content should protect it better themselves.

Too bad you guys don't do managed or semi managed hosting. Otherwise it sounds like something of interest. Maybe I should look for server management guy
