Adult sites banned in google

If your adult site is banned in google, is there any point submitting a reconsideration request? Anyone had their adult sites restored in google?

I don't see any reason why you shouldn't try it anyway, regardless if people have tried it. Can't be too much work and there's only an upside.

I had site ranked 1# for few strong keywords in it's own niche, and after penguin update the site just disappeared from google i have sent reconsideration request and they told me this:
Dear Site Owner or Webmaster of http://www.domain.com/,

We've received a request from a site owner to reconsider http://www.domain.com/ for compliance with Google's Webmaster Guidelines.

We've reviewed your site and found no manual actions by the web spam team that might affect your site's ranking in Google. There's no need to file a reconsideration request for your site because any ranking issues that you may be experiencing are not related to a manual action taken by the web spam team.

Of course, there may be other issues with your site that affect your site's ranking. Google's computers determine the order of our search results using a series of formulas known as algorithms. We make hundreds of changes to our search algorithms each year and we employ more than 200 different signals when ranking pages. As our algorithms change and as the web (including your site) changes, some fluctuation in ranking can occur as we make updates to present the best results to our users.

If you've experienced a change in ranking which you suspect may be more than a simple algorithm change, there are other things that you may want to investigate as possible causes, such as a major change to your site's content, content management system or server architecture. For example, a site may not rank well if your server stops serving pages to Googlebot or if you've changed the URLs for a large portion of your site's pages. This article has a list of other potential reasons why your site may not be doing well in search.

If you're still unable to resolve your issue, please see our Webmaster Help Forum for support.

Yours sincerely,

Google Search Quality Team

There is a chance,if you have blog and you getting your backlinks from other blog's,how those backlinks are invalid because they are sitewide,it seems now that is a problem to have such backlinks.

How did you get your site banned in the first place?

Without knowing this we can't really advice you the best course of action.

I think the problem is popups and too much advertising, but I am actually not 100% sure. I am going to clean it all up, submit a re-inclusion request and then just start afresh.

I don't think your site is actually "banned" by google, sounds more like google over optimization penalty because of "unnatural links". You could read more about it or just wait and try to build more good links and remove "unnatural links".

I don't think you'll get banned for to many ads but penalized, yes but that's a very very different thing than banned.

So this is good news because chances are you aren't "banned" but just heavily penalized.

So #1 add the domain in question to Google Webmaster Tools, you should be able to learn more about the domain name that way.

#2 Go to Google and search for your site. Go
site:yourdomainname.com ie: site:gfy.com

If your site is included in the google search index it will say there. If not, then you know for sure you are banned.

#3 We will assume you are not actually banned, just really fucked in terms of penalties. Now it's time to get to work.

Go to http://support.google.com/webmasters...n&answer=35769
Look at the guidelines and make sure you are good.

All of that aside I want you to remember a few things - you should always have more content than ads. Period. No exception.

I know the goal of you site is to make money but believe it or not, the less ads you have, the more likely people are to click on them. If you want to make money, give people a quality website. MORE CONTENT .... LESS ADS.

Don't use hidden text or blink links.

Don't use cloaking or sneaky redirects. Not used as often today but a fear years ago it was all the rage. Bad idea and can fuck you with google.

Don't send automated queries to Google. This also means don't use software that does either. It wasn't to long ago that SEO software people were paying $200+ for, got their asses banned because it would do queries. Avoid these things like the plague!

Don't load your website with a bunch of irrelevant keywords. Try and keep your focus on a few keywords - pick 1 or 2 you like and stick with those only.

Don't create multiple pages, subdomains, or domains with substantially duplicate content. This can really hurt you more than help you. In the past it was more important to have a lot of pages index, the old spider trap but today it is more important to have unique content. So 3 unique pages are far far more valuable to google than 3,000 that are not.

And this is probably the most important --
If your site participates in an affiliate program, make sure that your site adds value. Provide unique and relevant content that gives users a reason to visit your site first.
